Christina Montaruli is our newest member of the Las Vegas Crafters
Guild. Welcome Christina!! A former New Yorker from Long Island ( yes, she still has the accent J), Christina lived in
Florida for 13 years before heading west
to Las Vegas in 1995.
She was a hair stylist for 40 years but always had a love
for creating art. As with many artisans, Christina has worked
in different mediums from silver clay, to cutting glass and using a kiln to
make jewelry and other small decorative items. Christina is a talented artist and paints with oil
paints, acrylics, and watercolors.
During the pandemic, Christina was furloughed from work
as a hair stylist. But, being a creative
soul, she put her blow dryer to work not on hair but on creating different
patterns and colors for acrylic pouring canvases. Who
knew a blow dryer could aid in creating bold, abstract pieces with lots
of texture and movement?
Christina has also mastered the craft of working with
resin. Her paperweights are fun pieces
with different objects such as seashells, dried flowers layered in resin. A great cottagecore gift item. She also uses resin on wood and also creates
beautiful coasters that little pieces of art.
Christina is constantly pushing the boundaries and making objects that
are one of a kind, original and beautiful.
